A Handmade Christmas

I'll be at the fabulous Handmade Market this Saturday and Sunday, I can't wait!

If you haven't yet finished your Christmas shopping (and even if you have!) Handmade Market is the place to be this weekend.

I'll be there both days, sharing a stall with Michelle from Goosey Gander. For those that haven't yet heard, this is planned to be the last ever market for Goosey Gander so if you want to buy something from Michelle's range of high quality clothes for children - get in quickly! I'm feeling quite sad that this is our last market stall together; it was Michelle who prompted me to start making things to sell at markets and it has been absolutely fantastic to have shared this journey with her.

If you can't make it to Handmade Market this weekend, don't forget you can purchase select Flibbertigibbet products at the gorgeous Shop Handmade on City Walk in Civic.

Confession

Hello, my name is Anne and, well, I'm a bad blogger. It has been 88 days since my last blog post. Oh dear.

I've thought about blogging, honestly I have. I've even got several draft posts on hold behind the scenes. Life has been busy, with extra Winter lurgies thrown in for added difficulty. I am very glad that tomorrow heralds the beginning of Spring.

So, lurgies aside, I've been busy preparing lots of new stock because Spring and Summer are going to be BIG for Flibbertigibbet. Just check out that ever growing list of markets over there on the sidebar ------->

Pretty impressive list, huh? There's more to be added too.

But in just thirty days (believe you me, I'm counting!) I will be manning a stall for nine days straight. First up is the fabulous two day Handmade Market at the National Convention Centre on the long weekend in October (1st & 2nd) where I will be sharing a stall with my usual Handmade Market partner, Goosey Gander. Then I'll be moving across the road to the 'A Taste of Handmade' pavillion at Floriade (Floriade! So exciting!) where I will have a stall from the 3rd to the 9th of October. Then, a brief break before heading back to Old Bus Depot Market and also gearing up for a Handmade Market Christmas on the 17th of December.

So please forgive my silence on the blog front - I am busy, busy, busy! Hopefully I can make it back into blogland soon to post some sneak peeks of what I have been working on.

Mother's Day

Mother's Day is fast approaching and what better place to buy a present than Shop Handmade here in Canberra. I have reason to believe that my Mother's Day present was purchased at Shop - so it's certain to be fantastic and I can't wait to unwrap it.

Shop Handmade is also running a fabulous competition at the moment - all you have to do is make a purchase from the shop and you will be in the running to win an amazing Handmade hamper valued at $250 for Mother's Day.

There's a Flibbertigibbet bracelet in the hamper (among other gorgeous goodies) but if you don't win and want a bracelet, I will be at Old Bus Depot Market from 10am - 4pm on Mother's Day.

Photos from Mathilda's Market

Imagine my delight when on my Facebook news feed last night appeared photos taken at Sunday's Mathilda's Market here in Canberra, and four of the photos were of my stock.

Medium and large covered button necklaces

Bobby pins

Bracelets

Small and medium covered button elastic pairs

After looking at all the other photos in the Canberra Mathilda's Market album on Facebook, I am sorry that I wasn't able to get away from my stall to do a spot of shopping. So many gorgeous things, and such talented stallholders. A big thank you to the photographer Taryn Newland and Mathilda's Market for such lovely photos.

Back in the swing for 2011

Last weekend's Handmade Market at the new indoor venue of the National Convention Centre was a marvellous success and was the perfect way for Flibbertigibbet to commence market appearances for 2011. It is always such an honour to have my work feature alongside the talented designers who make Handmade Market the destination market that it is, and I am sure 2011 will be another amazing year for Handmade.

I'm now busy preparing more stock for Mathilda's Market which is to be held in the ballroom of the Hyatt Hotel on Sunday the 6th of March from 9am to 1pm.

Those of you who have been to a Mathilda's Market before will know it is a veritable treasure trove of high quality handmade and designer items for children and the home, with a huge variety of stalls from local and interstate businesses. For those of you who have not been along to a Mathilda's Market, you really should jot this date in your diary! Have a look here to see the list of the designers taking part. I can't wait!
